NIGHTWAY
Painting this series began in New Mexico - hence its title, named for one branch of Navajo healing rituals, also to honor the area where my grandmother was born. The primordial emptiness of that landscape, extending under the arc of the blue day sky and the vast starry silence of the night sky, invites deep imagining. And so these images emerged.
